"As a child I would wake early on summer mornings and with my pencils and papers in hand I'd lie in the tall grass in my backyard with the sole goal of capturing on paper the wonder of each day." My career choice was never a question, it was a destination.

Marjory began her journey in high school by attending a graphic design tech school program, and later furthered her education in both graphic design and fine arts in college. She worked successfully as a graphic designer for many years. When life allowed she returned to her true passion which was painting. She participates in fine art shows and artists organizations and has won many awards. Marjory has also been a muralist throughout her life for both businesses and private homes.
Since 2005 she has influenced hundreds of budding artists while teaching a variety of painting classes. To check for available classes and information use contact page.

Because of their quick drying ability projects are easy to transport when teaching art classes or plein air painting. All of my murals are painted with acrylics then sealed with the appropriate vararthane. There are many products to add to acrylic paints that their abilities are essentially limitless. I use oil paint when my subject requires superior blending abilities, yet I do use acrylic paint under my oil paintings to speed up the coverage process. I was slow to warm up to watercolors but there are some painting ideas that just lend themselves to watercolors and no other media will do. Watercolor is an amazing media. Nature and it's beauty is my utmost inspiration. I choose mainly feel good subjects and paint mainly from my own photos I take from travels or sometimes everyday life. I am fascinated with the movement and reflections of water. Ocean, lakes, streams, rain, beautiful AZ thunder clouds and amazing sunsets are other inspirations. I like to garden and appreciate quaint little homes with glowing flower beds the owner painstakingly tends to and small towns depicting a simpler life. In my paintings I try to invoke all of our five senses so that viewers can feel and see themselves there. Sometimes just a single object like a windsock blowing in the wind on a hot AZ day can inspire me to imagine being on a breezy seaside patio and create a totally made up scene such as my painting entitled "My Perfect Day."
