AZ Artist, Marjory Boyer has been passionate about art since she was a small child growing up in Phoenix. She remembers waking at the break of dawn during summer breaks for the sole purpose of lying on her backyard lawn to quietly reproduce on paper the surprises that nature brought each morning.
Marjory’s committment and desire to achieve in the field of arts continued throughout her life. She was educated in both fine arts and graphic design.
Her career began in graphic design where her work was shown both locally and nationally in the form of ads, logos, brocheres, signs, and billboard designs. As a second career she continued to paint, perfect, and pursue her dreams as a fine artist.
Today Marjory is a recognized award winning artist who is active in fine art shows thoughout Az. She paints mainly feel-good subjects that invites the viewer to step in and sit awhile. She works mainly from photos she has taken, but occasionally she is inspired by a single object such as a windsock blowing in the breeze, which became the focal point of an entirely imagined coastal patio scene in her painting entitled “My Perfect Day”.
The quiet beauty of Arizona deserts and the wonderful coastal scenes of California and Oregon are often her choice of subjuct matter. With each painting she strives to incorporate all five senses to fully capture the moment.
Acrylics is her media of choice for the convenience and fast drying ability, but many of her works are also painted in both oil and watercolors.
Marjory has been an art instructor since 2004. She currently teaches in both acrylics, water-based oil, and watercolor. Her life long experiences and knowledge in almost all aspects of art provides her the ability to help other aspiring artists achieve their personal goals within her classes.
As a co-founder and previous V.P. of the N.E. Valley Artists League, a juried member of the AZ Art Alliance, and a member of the Consortium for Arts, Marjory remains very active in the arts.
